Former President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), Kyei Baffuor has called on the president to as a matter of urgency sack the mayor of Accra.
His call for dismissal of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Boss comes after the mayor; Alfred Oko Vanderpuije arrested a trotro driver for honking his own horn.
He described his actions as unlawful.
�The mayor should be sacked. He is the cause of filth we see in the Greater Accra region. I don�t see why he should even arrest the driver because he has no right to do so. �It is a great disappointment and disgrace for his party. The best thing he should have done was to summon the driver and not to arrest him".
Mr. Kyei Baffuor however called on the AMA to pass a bye-law to make any communal activity in Accra mandatory.
However the president of NALAG believed the AMA boss has taken the law in his own hands. �He has indeed breached the law� he said on Adom FM�s Dwaso Nsem Morning show Thursday.
