Reports from Kumasi say almost all medical facilities apart from KNUST hospital are accepting the NHIS cards from patients. According to the KNUST hospital, the decision to suspend the NHIS card is as a result of the NHIA's non-payment of the grant for several months now. Management believes that the consistent failure by the NHIA to pay could grind the hospital's operation to a halt. Almost all the other hospitals are accepting the health Insurance cards.
