Randy Thinks He Is A "Demi god of Journalism"... - Otiko Djaba

The National Women's Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fired salvoes at the Host of "Good Morning Ghana" on Metro TV, Randy Abbey, accusing him of behaving like a demi god of journalism. According to Otiko Afisa Djaba, the management of Metro TV and Randy Abbey have taken Ghanas democracy and President Mahamas quest for women participation in the running of this country a step backwards by their refusal to host her on the stations current affairs morning talk show. "...Randy Abbey now thinks he has become a demi god of journalism and can therefore decide who appears on television and doesnt. When I called the Management of the station, they told me "Good Morning Ghana" is Randys baby, which therefore makes his decision final but I think this is a blow to our democracy, she said on Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia program. Otiko Djabas scathing attack on Metro TV was first made during a Media Foundation organized forum for women. Madam Otiko alleged that Randy Abbey threatened not to host the popular show if she is allowed to appear on the show. At the forum, the National Women's Organizer of the NPP threatened to drag Randy Abbey before the National Media Commission (NMC) but seem to have changed her mind and now wants President Mahama, who happens to be her cousin, to hear of what the Host of "Good Morning Ghana" on Metro TV had done. She, however, stated that the action of the Management of Metro TV had not dampened her spirit, as far as the fight to advance the cause of women is concern.
