Abuakwa North NDC Chair Dead

The Abuakwa North constituency chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Francis Adoquaye, 67, has passed away after a short illness. Family sources indicated that he died at the Cocoa Clinic in Accra after having been admitted at the facility for almost two weeks. Daughter of the late party chair, Priscilla Adoquaye, told the DAILY HERITAGE that her father attended a party meeting and upon his return to the house fell down and sustained a fracture on the leg in the process. According to her, doctors recommended surgery, but, that did little to reduce the debilitating pains in the leg and thighs. Madam Adoquaye added that for about three months now, her late fathers condition got worse despite transferring him to the Akyem Tafo Government Hospital and subsequently, to the Cocoa Clinic where he passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2014. She said the body had been deposited at the Koforidua St. Josephs Mortuary. The late Adoquayes hard work and dedicated service to the NDC in the Abuakwa North constituency won him the chairmanship position for a second term at the just-ended constituency election. The Acting Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Sumail, has on behalf of the umbrella family expressed their condolences to the bereaved family. He pledged the partys support to the family.
