Ex Ghana striker Felix Aboagye has dismissed all possible comparisons between Marseille winger Andre 'Dede' Ayew and his legendary dad Abedi Ayew Pele, insisting that the Andre can never reach half the level of achievements chalked his dad. The 24-year-old will lead Ghana as skipper for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo in the absence of Asamoah Gyan who has struggled to recover for double-header. Andre, who skippered Ghana to clinch the FIFA World Youth Championship trophy in 2009 will try to draw inspiration from that, and also bid to emulate his dad who captained the Black Stars decades ago. Several football pundits have questioned the leadership skills of Asamoah Gyan, thereby calling for Andre Ayew to be handed the armband, in drawing comparisons with his dad but Felix Aboagye says nobody should ever compare the two. �What has Andre got? You know he hasn�t gotten even half of what his father achieved because what the maestro did on the field of play is exceptional because Abedi can change game,� Felix Aboagye told Starr FM. Aboagye, who is a former Zamalek striker, said he believes Andre Ayew has the potential to lead Ghana to end 32-year wait for a trophy. �He can command the game, he can do everything with the ball so let�s pray that Andre will lift up his game and he will be a leader on the field of play and at least he can lead the national team to chalk success.� �But what his father has got that one is exceptional and I don�t believe Andre can match him now,� Aboagye summed up. As well as winning the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars in Libya, Abedi is highly regarded as one of the best African footballers ever. Meanwhile, the current Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is also quoted as saying that Andre Ayew has the capability to excel as the skipper of the team once he takes over the armband in the near future.
