Single Spine; I Wish Kufuor Was Paying...Today, I Don't Have Enough For High Life - Kwamena Duncan

The Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has called for a return of Ex-President Kufour's administration. Kwamena Duncan, who doubles as a teacher at the Adisadel College, was worried that the Mahama government has mismanaged the Single Spine Salary Scheme (SSSS), a pay plan policy for workers in the country. He explained that under ex-President Kufour's administration, his salary was enough to cater for his family but the NDC government has worsened the system. According to him, amidst the cedi fall and other economic challenges, it has become difficult for him to even account for the money he gives to his wife for housekeeping. Speaking on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Kwamena Duncan bemoaned the gradual collapse of the Single Spine and therefore registered his displeasure with the manner in which the ruling party is running the economy. I tell you even this whole thing called Single Spine; I would wish that [ex-President] Kufour was paying, we could trace our steps back and allow Kufour to pay me. It was so [so] far better. I look at my salary index to the dollar. During Kufours regime when he was paying me, we had a relatively small stable currency but even the money I was receiving; it was worth [worth worth] more than what Im taking today. Today, I dont see how much I even give to my wife and the rest I also put in my pocket for high life," he lamented.
