"I will not do party politics for now, though I am still relevant in Ghanaian politics,� Michael Ampong has announced after his purported appointment as a deputy communications director of the NPP was reversed yesterday. The National Council of the NPP, at a meeting at the NPP headquarters in Accra yesterday reversed the purported appointment of nine party members as Deputy Communication Directors, and made new appointments. The nine were appointed by the General Secretary and Chairman, contrary to the regulations governing such appointments. Per the NPP constitution, the National Council in consultation with the National Executive Committee makes such appointments. The Council also appointed a substantive Director of Communications, as well as deputies for the National Organiser, National Women�s Organiser and National Youth Organiser. A former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South, Nana Akomea was reappointed as Director of Communications. He will be assisted by Perry Okudzeto, Anthony Karbo, Yaw Adomako Baafi, Mike Ocquaye Jnr, and Maame Afua Akoto. While declining to name specifics, Michael Ampong alleged that some members have had it in for him since last year, and the reversal of his appointment comes as no surprise, although he is hurt. �I feel humiliated and embarrassed� he confessed on Adom FM morning show. �Whether the decision to unseat me was right or wrong, 2016 elections will be the best judge�. Nevertheless the former Greater Accra Regional Communications Director believes the NPP will succeed if they get to the grassroots. �Though I see my relief as a humiliation, I also think that when my party put aside any emotional issues and get to the root of the problems and win 2016.� Meanwhile, Nana Obiri Boahen has also been appointed Deputy General Secretary while Daniel Denteh and Nuhu Mahama have appointed deputy National Organisers. Salam Mustapha and Dominic Adiyah are the new Deputy National Youth Organizers. Diana Karikari and Hajia S. Saeed will be assisting National Women�s Organiser Otiko Afisa Djaba.
