Prez Mahama Is Right; Corruption Is A Murderer...It Kills, It Takes Lives

General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says corruption indeed started from Adam, but was quick to add that knowing just when it starts is not enough. Let no one be in doubt that corruption started from Adam, and let no one also be in doubt that corruption is mass murderso possibly, President Kufuor was right when he said corruption started from Adam; but even more right is when President Mahama says that corruption is a murderer. It kills, it takes lives, he noted. His comment follows a protest staged by a political pressure group known as Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) last Wednesday dubbed 'Aagbe Wor,' meaning "they are killing us". The demonstration was a protest against what they described as high level corruption, incompetent leadership and economic hardship in the country. Some leading members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) also joined the demonstration. Speaking to Radio Golds Alhassan Suhuyini on Alhaji and Alhaji Saturday, Mr. Bernard Mornah asked if corruption really takes lives, are we as a nation looking at when it started; or we are looking at the devastation and the hazards is visits on our societies and putting in procedures to nip it in the bud? And so whiles it is right to admit that it started as far back as the days of Adam when he was not suppose to eat the so called proverbial fruit and he took it and ate it when it didnt belong to him, it is also true that after that it brought untold consequences on us and therefore we should find a way to mitigate, to attempt to cut and to stem this tide, he admonished. The general Secretary indicted that the attempt to suggest that one political party is responsible for the corruption in the country as demonstrated the protesters last Wednesday is unfortunate. He however bemoaned the lawlessness that characterized the so called Aagbe Wor' demonstration saying you cant fight corruption with lawlessness.
