We Should Build Our Systems To Work Effectively - NPP MP Tells Gov't

Since news broke about the arrest of a Ghanaian lady by name Nayeli Ametefeh for attempting to traffic 12.5kgs of cocaine, several critics have been heaping coals on the Mahama administration. Critics have pointed fingers at the government claiming some top official(s) might have aided and abetted the lady by providing her with a diplomatic passport. The lady was initially reported to have acquired a Ghanaian diplomatic passport and been using pseudo names to make her travels abroad. The suspect was later revealed to have travelled with an Austrian Passport No. P4187659. She however had an ordinary Ghanaian passport (GO364497)not a diplomatic passport as earlier reported. She was also said to have been on the wanted list of America and other countries for trafficking cocaine. Following up on the issue, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi South, Ahmed Arthur has called on the government to beef up its security systems. Speaking on Peace FM "Kokrokoo", Ahmed Arthur wondered how the authorities of the Kotoka International Airport failed to detect the bags of cocaine on the lady. "We should build our systems. The structures in this country should work. We should give it strength. We should make sure that we've given it backing that it will make it work effectively," he stressed.
