Ghanaian Youth Will Soon Go Into Commercial Farming... - Mahama Ayariga

Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mahama Ayariga has revealed on his Facebook Wall that every effort is being made by President Mahama to make Agriculture attractive to the youth. According to him, a number of stakeholders are in the process of designing a private sector- anchored Youth In Agriculture program to promote import substitution, rapid commercialization of agriculture, skills development and youth employment. The Stakeholders in the meeting are the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the National Youth Authority, Bui Power Authority, the World Bank, International Finance Cooperation and private sector companies. He again revealed that currently, the team is developing two sites in the Accra Plains and the Bui area for the Youth In Agriculture program. The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central reiterated the efforts President Mahama is making to ensure that agriculture is made attractive to the youth; adding the World Bank and their partners are providing technical support for the design of the project.
