Bob Marley's Family Creates Cannabis Brands For Worldwide Sale

Bob Marley's family are preparing to launch the world's first global brand of cannabis. A range of cannabis-infused products, including lotions, creams and other accessories will be marketed under the name 'Marley Natural.' The reggae legend's daughter, Cedella Marley, said her father would be "so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb." The Marley family is developing the brand with US firm Privateer Holdings. The products are to be sold in the US initially before potentially being marketed worldwide next year. Privateer's chief executive Brendan Kennedy said Marley was "someone who, in many ways, helped start the movement to end cannabis prohibition 50 years ago," the BBC reports. "It was just a natural fit between Bob Marley and this product. You know if you were to look for the most famous human being who ever walked the face of the earth related to cannabis, it would be Bob Marley." Marley, who died in 1981, smoked cannabis as part of his Rastafarian faith. He supported the drug's legalisation. Cannabis use for recreational purposes is legal in two US states, with others also considering following suit.
