A gun battle between two suspected armed robbers and the Tema police at Community 9 near Bishop Daniel Obinim�s church Wednesday morning left one of the suspects dead. The other robber, who sustained gunshot wounds was arrested by the police. According to reports, the main target for the robbery was the head pastor of the International God�s Way Church, Bishop Obinim but he was not around at the time of the robbery attempt. The armed men then decided to rob a forex bureau in the vicinity, Mediator Zone forex bureau. Tina, an eye witness who spoke to Adom FM�s correspondent, Isabella Gidiglo, said the robbers shot the shop attendant at the forex bureau during the scuffle. After the alarm was raised the robbers left the shop and started shooting sporadically, leaving two by-standers injured in an attempt to escape. The police gave the robbers a hot chase and apprehended them at the Ashaiman motorway roundabout when they run out of firearms. One of them died in the shootout. Meanwhile, the two injured bystanders, a man and a woman were rushed to the Tema General Hospital, Tina added. The scarred shop owner, Tina said fear has gripped residents of Tema Community 9 and called for police protection.
