ECG Boss Has Been Offered As a 'Sacrificial Lamb' To Convince Ghanaians - Ahmed Arthur

Hon. Ahmed Arthur, NPP Parliamentarian for Okaikoi South, has slammed government over the dismissal of the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Rev. Ing. William Hutton-Mensah. Speaking on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Hon. Ahmed Arthur was of a strong view that dismissing the ECG Boss will not resolve the energy crises in the country. He strongly held that the ECG Boss has been offered as a 'sacrificial lamb' to convince Ghanaians that the government is on track to find solutions to the power cuts. According to him, the government should deal with the root cause of the erratic power supply to communities in the country. He therefore likened the energy situation to the spread of cancer, hence stressing the need for the government to put pragmatic measures in place to solve the issue. Instead of sitting down and finding where the cancer is and stopping the spread of the cancer before you begin to bring in measures that will reverse that trend, you are rather finding scapegoats. Scapegoat season is now in vogue. If that is so, then those in charge (of the energy sector) have all failed us," he said.
