Teachers Urged To Read More

The Most Reverend John Kwofie, Catholic Bishop of the Sekondi/Takoradi Diocese, has called on trainee teachers to be focused on their studies in order to get good results. He said reading and the power of imagination were keys to a successful life and urged teachers to read widely to sharpen their skills and broaden their horizon. The Most Rev. Kwofie gave the advice at the matriculation ceremony for 254 new students of the Holy Child College of Education in Takoradi. In all, 347 applications were admitted for the General Diploma and Diploma in Early Childhood programmes. Most Rev. Kwofie urged them to avoid bad influences and use their time judiciously for the benefit of humanity. Mrs. Margaret Lemaire, Principal of the College, who administered the matriculation oath, entreated the students to take their academic work seriously to avoid the regrets. She urged them to abide by school rules and regulations and make use of the Guidance and Counselling Unit for their personal development.
