NDC Is Being Haunted By Its Own Ghost Atik

A Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC) has opined that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is being hunted by 'a ghost they have created'. He made this comment in relation to the ongoing controversies surrounding the Nayele Ametefe's cocaine saga and how both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are playing politics with it. Nayele also known as Ruby Adu-Gyamfi was busted at the Heathrow Airport for trying to smuggle cocaine into the United Kingdom (UK). Atik however, does not understand why the issue has turned into a political match with the NPP pointing accusing fingers at the NDC and the NDC also referring to the alleged cocaine history of the NPP. The NDC is running helter skelter, jumping over one another just to create the impression that they are saints when it comes to drugs he stated. According to Atik Mohammed, NDC is doing that because they are being haunted by the ghost they created when they tagged the NPP as a cocaine party; adding, the ruling party made the issue of cocaine a serious one during the erstwhile Kufuor regime. Contributing to a panel discussion on PEACE FM morning show 'Kokrokoo' the PNC youth activist said it has now become a herculean task for the NDC to keep up their image as an 'anti-cocaine political party'. Cocaine became a political issue because of NDC and the drug ghost has come back to haunt them. they have placed a needless burden on themselves...the confusion is too much all in the desperate bid to rationalise what is going on. The ghost they have erected, now they want to find a way to say that ghost does not exist in Ghana...we've got to a point where we have to put an end to the way we play politics with this issue"
