Agric Institutions To Undergo Training On Vegetable Production Technologies

Agricultural institutions in Ghana will undergo greenhouse production and Agri-entrepreneurship training on vegetable production from December 1-3, 2014. Agri-impact Consult, an Agribusiness Development firm, is organising the 3-day program, which seeks to build the technical capacities of staff from selected institutions. The training Program, which is being supported by ASNAPP with funding from the Skills Development Fund (SDF), will cover topics from farming as a business, entrepreneurship and techniques in greenhouse production. The Selected institutions include KNUST, MoFA, Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture (KITA), Adidome Farm institute and Asuansi Farm Institute. The training is part of Agri-Impacts's incubation programme to increase the technical and entrepreneurial capacity of Agricultural institutions to transfer modern production technologies and Agri-entrepreneurship skills to young graduates from these institutions to make them employers or employable. The training program is expected to increase the competitiveness and productivity of horticultural operators in Ghana, thereby accelerating meaningful growth within the Agricultural sector for a transformation in the local Ghanaian economy.
