Man Kills Friend Over Adultery

Wilson Dogbe, a 32- year-old man, has found himself in the web of the law for allegedly stabbing his friend to death at Zenu near Ashaiman in the Kpone-Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region, over an allegation that the victim was flirting with his wife. The culprit, a commercial driver, was apprehended by the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) when he went into hiding after purportedly stabbing one Solomon Lugutah, a 43-year-old man who left behind a four-year old boy. He was said to have stabbed his friend twice in the chest and the stomach and would be charged with unlawful entry and causing harm when arraigned before the law court. A police source alerted DAILY GUIDE that on November 11, 2014, at about 8:45 pm, the suspect visited his family at Zenu where he spent some time with them before leaving. Some minutes later, Dogbe was reported to have received a distress call from an unknown person informing him about his son who was said to have been locked up in a room by the mother as the boy had been crying his heart out in the room. Dogbe, without hesitation, rushed to the house and indeed, discovered that his son had been locked up in the room and screaming to disturb other tenants and neighbours. While contemplating on what to do next as the little boy was still crying, he again received another call from the same person telling him that his wife was in his friend (Solomons) room. Without wasting much time, he quickly dashed to the friends house which was a few metres away from where the wife stays. Immediately he arrived at the house, he reportedly heard some noise in the room of his friend but after knocking severally the room became quiet while the door was left ajar. The suspect purportedly pushed the door and entered the room, only to find his wife and the friend having sex. He reportedly became offended and a misunderstanding ensued between him and his friend, leading to a struggle. He allegedly stabbed Solomon in the stomach and the chest and bolted. An alarm was raised which drew the attention of Solomons family. They supposedly rushed to the room and quickly sent him to the Tema General Hospital where he was admitted but died hours later after a surgery. A complaint was later made at the Domestic Victim and Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) branch of the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command. Later, the suspect who reportedly went into hiding was brought to the police station by his pastor whom he went to narrate the incident to. He was detained for further investigations.
