We are utterly appalled with the way and manner the carbon copy ministers of the republic of Ghana had continued to degenerate the image of the country without considering the success chalked by previous government.
It is totally unacceptable for government officials of the republic to turn into spokesperson for an alleged carrier of 12.5kg of illicit drugs intercepted at Heathrow on the 10 November 2014.
Ghanaians in Europe are in great disappointment, and there are no words to adequately describe the anger at our selfish leaders who facilitated this to the detriment of the 25 million population.
COALITIONS OF YOUNG LIBERALS (COYLIB) are extremely worried about Ghana�s image internationally, and if care is not taken our hard working men and women will lose opportunities amongst other countries globally.
We calling on the Foreign office to summon the Ghanaian ambassador (Victor Smith) to explain the security breach with the alleged drug trafficking which automatically posses threat to the EU and America at this age of fighting global terrorism and drugs.
Explanation from the Foreign Minister, published on Peace fm online clearly indicates the security lapses in carrying the consignment on board British airways without any proper security checks; the consignment could have been �bomb� on board the flight. There are more questions than answers and we hope the foreign office can help establish the facts.
COYLIB is cautioning the Minister for foreign affairs (Hannah Tetteh), communication Minister (Omane Boamah) and other government officials to be circumspect and responsible for the greater cause of the citizens and avoid plunging Ghana into a drug hub.
