NSS Pays Suspended Allowances

The acting Executive Director of the NSS, Dr Michael Kpessah-White, has asked national service personnel who ended their service in August this year to contact their district directors for the payment of their July and August 2014 allowances. The payment of the allowances was suspended earlier this year to enable the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to undertake a review of the National Service Scheme (NSS) payment processes after a massive corruption at the Secretariat was uncovered. A statement signed by Dr Kpessah-White reminded all such personnel that they would be required to complete declaration forms, which must be duly endorsed by their supervisors before they would be paid their allowances. It commended all affected national service personnel for their patience and urged them to co-operate with staff of the NSS to make the exercise a success.
