Grassroots for Portophy (G4P) has travelled around the country over the past several weeks to canvas support for Dr. Ebenezer Kofi Portophy to lead the great National Democratic Congress (NDC) party as the next National Chairman. In our travels, we have come to see that in many places, the party is despondent and disorganized and disunited. All this is because the current Chairman is basically an absentee chairman. He does not travel and he does not visit the grassroots. Worse, he has become virtually incommunicado. It is impossible to meet with him, says many party members at the grassroots. The grassroots now insist that they can no longer work with Dr. Kwabena Adjei. It is for this reason that we are calling on him to stand aside and hand over the chairmanship to Portophy to avoid a bad disgrace come December 20th, 2014, when the delegates of our great tradition the NDC gather for congress. The NDC has so far won four out of the six elections held under Ghana�s 4th Constitutional arrangement, but if Kwabena Adjei prevails in Kumasi, he would surely lead the party into opposition again. For that reason, we call on Kwabena Adjei to step aside and support Portophy, the man of the future! Grassroots for Portophy! Portophy for the Grassroots!
