Dont Invite Pastors From Ebola Stricken Countries Into Ghana

Ghanaian Christian leaders have been urged to keep this years Christmas conventions and all Christian gatherings simple as a means helping prevent a possible outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the country. Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani made the call when he met with leaders of various Christian groups to discuss how to help curtail the spread of the virus in the sub-region. The groups included the Christian Council of Ghana, Ghana Pentecostal Council, Charismatic Council, National Association of Charismatic churches and the Catholic Bishops conference. Helping to prevent the spread of the virus which has killed more than 5000 since its outbreak in the first quarter of 2014, the Chief of Staff said, should be the primary aim of all worshippers that would gather to celebrate the birth of Christ. Part of the measures to achieving this aim, he recommended, must include declining to invite religious leaders from other West African countries into their meetings. He added that since the virus spreads through contacts, it is necessary the leaders keep reminding their congregation of the various tips to preventing the deadly virus and its possible spread. General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Apostle Yaw Antwi in an interview with Adom News said the leaders would relay the information they obtained from the meeting unto their members. He emphasized the need to avoid handshakes during such meetings. General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Paul Frimpong Manso also urged churches to buy more sanitizers for use by members during conventions. He also called on all Assemblies of God churches that would be organizing conventions at the District level to also stick to the rules to Ebola prevention. Conventional practices such as hugging and handshake, he added, should be minimized at such meetings. - See more at: http://www.ghana-news.adomonline.com/news/2014/December-18th/dont-invite-pastors-from-ebola-stricken-countries-into-ghana-christian-leaders-told.php#sthash.AGyieQA4.dpuf
