8th NDC Congress Has Been Historical"

The 8th NDC congress will go down in history as one of the well organised political events in the annals of the NDC. This is according to a cross-section of the participants. They say the peaceful nature of the event signifies the unity with which the NDC is pursuing the 2016 General elections. Ghanaians home and abroad have been keenly monitoring the super national Delegates Congress of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) which took place in Kumasi. Hundreds of party faithful, sympathizers and delegates from all walks of life converged in the Ashanti Regional capital to elect national officers to lead the party for the next four years. The race has been fierce as party bigwigs and interest groups backed favourite candidates. Sweep around the Ashanti regional capital revealed party supporters at Aboabo, Alabar and Asawase glued to radio sets and social media following proceedings. Both local and foreign observers including Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) also dispatched several officers to ensure free and fair elections as well as peaceful elections.
