I Am Grateful To Those Who Shared Buta In My Name Kofi Adams

Newly-elected National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reacted to rumours he gave delegates buta just to be voted for. During the National Delegates Congress of the party, there were pictures of butas having Kofi Adams image on it; others also had the image of the newly-elected National Chairman of the party, Kofi Portuphy. http://elections.peacefmonline.com/pages/politics/201412/226544.php Prior to this, there were rumours that some other aspirants shared cement bags, roofing sheets, etc for delegates to vote for them but little did we know that butas were included. Reacting to this in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on PEACE FM Morning Show Kokrokoo, Kofi Adams said he had no idea that something like that was being shared. I got to know after the congress, he said. Nonetheless, he expressed appreciation to all who shared the buta saying If someone did it on my behalf, I am grateful to them at least our brothers who are Muslims can use it to pray but it was not part of our plan even though it was a good initiative. I think it contributed to my victory Commenting on his victory, he said the fact that delegates voted massively for him is an indication that they are expecting a lot from him my interpretation of the landslide victory is that there is a big task ahead of me; with every other person on board. The results of the election do not mean that someone has done anything wrong he said.
