Tamale Muslim Cleric Condemns Boko Haram

Spiritual leader and head of the Shia Muslim community in the Northern Region has called for concerted efforts to combat the activities of Boko Haram and their allied bodies who are terrorizing innocent people under the pretence of safeguarding Islam. Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalihu who doubles as the Northern Regional Zongo communities� chief described as an Islamic the activities of Boko Haram, Alshabab and the recent militant group which emerged in France. He joined hundreds of World leaders who have condemned the recent attack on a France media house which culminated into the death of 12 people. Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalihu unreservedly condemned the dastardly acts in a short sermon at the naming ceremony of the daughter of Tamale based businessman/contractor called Iddrisu Alhassan (Borger). He advised Muslim youth to refrain from immoral acts which create room for saboteurs of Islam to continue tagging it as a religion of violence. He further urged all Muslims to be guarded by the tenets of Islam which promotes peace, unity, forgiveness, reconciliation and total submission to the Will of Allah. The renowned Islamic Cleric implored Muslims to groom their children to become responsible citizens. He thus challenged Muslim parents to invest in their children�s education. As an inter-generational Sheikh, he is noted for his total disregard for religious intolerance. He has always been at the forefront of promoting inter-religious dialogue. Known for his bilingual antics, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Dalihu delivers his sermons on radio and at a public functions in several languages including English, Dagbani and Hausa. He implores an overdose of emotional appeals to lure his targeted audience to be on the righteous path.
