TOR Refines 24,000 Barrels Of Crude A Day

State oil refinery, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) on December 29, 2014, started refining crude oil after shutting down operations for almost four months. The Refinery managed to secure financial support from Access Bank to bring in 800, 000 barrels of crude oil from Sahara Oil. Speaking to the issue in an interview with Sit-in host of PEACE FM morning show Kokrokoo, Nana Yaw Kesse, the Public Affairs Manager of TOR, Aba Lokko indicated that the plant is currently able to refine 24,000 barrels of crude a day. On 29th December we had 800,000 barrels of crude which we are refining. Per the structure of the plant, we were supposed to refine 45,000 barrels a day. However currently we are able to refine just 24,000 barrels due to a fault we have with one of the machines she asserted. According to her, TOR will soon be receiving $37.7million from the Finance Ministry which will be used for maintenance adding; part of this money will be used to put mechanisms in place so that we will not be affected by the ongoing load-shedding. A portion will also be used for major turnaround maintenance. For the meantime, we had had negotiations with ECG and so in case there is a problem and they need to put off the light, they will inform us
