DVLA Resumes Printing Of Driver Licence Cards

Drivers whose Licences have delayed at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) since the middle of 2014 will receive their licences at the end of this month. The DVLA machines for the printing of the licences, which broke down in the middle of 2014, have now been repaired and printing of licences has resumed. The Accra Regional Manager of the DVLA, Mr Noah Tetteh Matey, told the Daily Graphic that the DVLA was currently sorting out the printed driver licence cards. He said after the sorting, all drivers who had applied for renewal of their licences and those who had requested for new licences in the last few months would receive their cards by the end of this month. There has been a hitch at the print farm. The issue has been resolved. Licences have been printed and we are currently doing the sorting out. We will start distributing to our clients. By the close of this month, all licences will be ready for collection, he assured. Temporary measures Mr Matey said DVLA received its last batch of licences on May 1, 2014. As a result, he said, the DVLA had extended the expiry dates of temporary driving licences that had been issued to drivers. The temporary driver licences have a three-month lifespan during which the cards are expected to be printed.
