Medical Stores Fire: Someone Must Be Held Responsible Prez Mahama

President Dramani Mahama has stated that someone must be held responsible for the recent fire that razed the Central Medical Store in Tema some few days ago. Consequently he has tasked the Ghana National Fire Service to quickly investigate the incident to determine the cause of the disaster. President Mahama made the remarks when he visited the site of the disaster to assess the situation for himself. If it was fire that occurred by accident then we also have to assess the state of fire preparedness for sensitive installations like thisAnd someone has to take some sort of responsibility. We cant continue to have this kind of situation happen where the nation loses so much money and in these times where we have economic challenges and you lose medical supplies and equipment worth more than 300 million cedis is totally unacceptable, he remarked. He added that the fire disaster should serve as a lesson to all state institutions adding that they should liaise with the Fire Service to ensure that state properties are protected against fire. Meanwhile the United Cares Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it strongly suspects political saboteurs to be behind the fire outbreak at the Central Medical stores.
