We All Knew The Blackstars Will Lose - Kwesi Pratt

The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt Jnr says Black Stars players opted to participate in the AFCON because they see it as an opportunity to make money. The Blackstars on Monday lost to the Teranga Lions of Senegal when they made their Group C debut at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament in Equatorial Guinea. This did not come as a surprise to Ghanaians because most of them were in favour of the Teranga Lions of Senegal. Giving his reaction on the team's defeat during a panel discussion on Peace FMs morning show Kokrokoo, Kwesi Pratt said he was also not surprised that the Black Stars lost. According to him, we all knew that the Blackstars will lose. Anyone who did not know is not a Ghanaian. These people have clearly demonstrated that they are playing the football just for the money and not to make the country proud. Speaking to the same issue on the same platform, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Payne said the 'spirit and the zeal' Ghanaians used to back the team whenever they are playing is no longer there due to what happened in Brazil. "Some of them wonders why they should support them when they are the ones chopping the big monies. I was outside during the match, and I heard goaaaallllll so I thought the Black Stars had scored only to realize that it was our opponent who had scored. Even though it is not proper, it shows you what is going on in the team and in the country. Ghanaians have in mind that the players as well as the executives are only interested in the money and so they will not waste their time to support them" he mentioned.
