Live FM Staff On Strike!

Information gathered from a source inside the newly acquired and latest addition to the Excellence In Broadcasting Network, Live 91.9 FM, indicates that all is not well with the radio network. According to our source, there is heightened tension between staff and management over salary arrears and this has lead to a strike by presenters, so for the the past two days, nobody has spoken on-air. The details are that management owed staff salary arrears of 3 to 6months due to some financial crisis the station was in before its final acquisition by the Bola Ray and Kwabena Duffour led Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network. According to the insider, when the EIB team made their official bid to acquire the company from the current owner, they indicated that the current management should clear all salary arrears before final takeover by the new owners in February. However, after taking the money from Bola Ray and his people to seal the deal, the current management lead by CEO Mike Cooke and owner, Pastor Kevin Kwesi Kobiri, have failed to honour their part of the deal by paying the staff what is due them. After several complaints, demands and inquisitions, the staff had no option than to take matters into their own hands and declare an on-air black-out. Therefore even though they report to work, they have refused to go on air. The staff feel that the current leaders who have a short time to stay before the new owners come in, are trying to play a smart one on them by taking the money from Bola and his EIB Network team and turning a blind eye to the money they owe them (staff). They believe that if the current administration doesnt pay them before February, itll be difficult for them to get their money from the new owners after the total take-over. Attempts to reach management for their side of the story has proven difficult but we hope to reach them soon and have their side of the story. For now, Live FM staff are not talking on-air.
