Gabonese referee Eric Arnaud Otogo-Castane has been selected by CAF to handle the Cup of Nations Semi-Finals clash between Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.
 

The 39-year-old will be assisted on the lines by Abdelhak Etchiali of Algeria as well as Angola’s Jerson Emiliano dos Santos.

Mehdi Abid Charef also from Algeria will be the fourth official with Mauritanian Massa Diarra serving as the match coordinator.

The controversial referee is officiating in his third successive Cup of Nations tournament having being selected for the last two editions of the competitions in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea and South Africa respectively.

Eric Arnaud Otogo-Castane was the center-man during the 3rd place game between Ghana and Mali at the 2013 Cup of Nations in South Africa.

His appointment for the crucial tie has caused mix feelings among many Ghanaian football fans who believe he might officiate the game in favor of the host following his country Gabon which shares the same boarder with Equatorial Guinea, hence raising suspicion of bias officiating on Thursday.

Thursday’s crucial game at the Estadio de Malabo kicks off at exactly 20:00 GMT [7pm local time].
