Hearts of Oak Coach, Herbert Addo has taken on his critics, charging them to be circumspect in their assessment of his team.
The Phobians descended on Kumasi to beat defending champions, Kotoko by a lone goal in their First Capital Plus Premier League fixture at the Garden City.
He told GNA Sports that “Most supporters only come to the stadium to see the end result of our matches and therefore, cannot make a proper assessment of the team’s performance.
"But, it would have been better if they come to the training grounds to see what we are actually doing”, he advised.
This, he said, would enable them to appreciate his technical commitment to the club on the field of play.
“I have been unjustifiably criticized for employing archaic tactics to the disadvantage of the team”, he lamented, noting that in spite of the bashing he had received from a section of Hearts’ supporters, he was well focused on the task given him.
The less-fancied Phobian side displayed sheer determination to pip the Porcupine Warriors in a match which saw Ghanaian-based South African defender, Shaun October, being voted as the Man of the Match.
A seventh minute strike by Selassie Adjei was all that Hearts needed to carry the day and this comes as a relief to embattled Coach Addo, who had in recent time been lambasted for technical bankruptcy.
On the assessment of his team, Addo was emphatic that “they were still not yet there”, saying “I do not think this team is a cup-winning one as the blend of new and old players need more time to play cohesively”.
“It is a matter of picking up at the right time”.
