Atinka FM Officially Launched!Kwame Adinkra, Kofi Asare Brako, Roman Father Others On Board

Atinka FM, the new radio station owned by Samuel Amo Tobin of pharmaceutical giants Tobinco, has been officially launched.

A ceremony to formally open its doors to the business world was held at its offices in Kokomlemle on Monday morning.

Attended by close associates, media owners and some top radio industry players, the station’s management also used the opportunity to unveil some of the names it’s managed to acquire for the roll out.

The event was moderated by former host of Angel FM’s Morning Show, Kwame Adinkra, whom this website had long said he was joining.

Already joined is former Peace FM, and Multimedia Broadcasting Group (Asempa FM, Myjoyonline) employee Jerry Tsatro Mordy, who is part of a what the station says is a crack news team. Mordy is expected to bring his years of experience to bear as the station seeks to build a credible online platform, too. He is being supported by a host of other relatively known names.

As already reported, former Asempa FM sports morning show host, Kofi Asare Brako, is heading the sports team. ‘Abatay’ as he is affectionately called is getting support from former Angel FM presenter Saddick Adams ‘Obama'; Kofi Appiah, Eric Adjanor ‘Cashito’, Edward Akuffo, Seth Dadzie and one Prof. Jude.

The station has promised an exciting delivery as it officially begins real programming today Monday, February 8, 2015.

Leading its morning show charge is Adinkra – who for years became Kumasi’s biggest voice on morning radio – and would look to create a following in Accra. Adinkra will be joined on the morning show by his former colleague at Angel FM Oduefour Nana Asabre, and Samuel Ofori Ayim.

Other presenters who have joined include Philip Appiah Kubi (Roman Father), formerly of Sika FM, whom we are told will be made head of their Arts and Entertainment department. Also joining is Candyman formerly of the Adabraka-based Rainbow Radio.

Atinka FM formerly operated as Sena Radio. They will compete in the Twi-speaking, mass market demographic.

Amo Tobin owns a number of business interests including Priority Insurance and Abii National Savings and Loans.
