Kwasi Nyantakyi Is The Best Brain For Ghana Football; Football Isn't Run Like A Political Party- Sannie Daara

Director of Communications at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Sannie Daara has described critics of the President of Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi as detractors against the progress of Ghana football.

According to him, Ghanaians should be grateful and appreciate the efforts of the GFA President as it was under his leadership that saw the nation at the World Cup appearance for the first time and subsequent appearances on three occasions.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Sannie Daara argued that the benefit of a World Cup appearance is more than paying huge sums of monies to advertise the country on CNN and BBC.

His comment comes on the heels of the accusation that the GFA President has not done anything meaningful to help the local league as it has become difficult to lift another African Cup of Nations after 33 years.

But the Director of Communications at GFA says sometimes the detractors help with their criticisms because the opposition make the FA extra careful in putting things in order to help shape football development in the country but bemoaned the situation where hatred and lies are used to destroy the reputation of others.

He however reminded the critics that running football is not like running a country where deadlines are required, stressing that football management is a business which needs the best brains to run it in the country.

“...how do you change the winning man who has helped the Ghana Football Association and the nation through the Black Stars to reach the world market? he quizzed, adding “you keep your best brains because football is not run like a political party which requires time-limit”.

Sepp Blatter is approaching his 90’s and he still contesting the next election. So in football terms, when you have the best brain who is leading, don’t say they should be changed but rather you urge them to stay….allow him to run the football; it is God who has put him in that position”, he asserted.

He disclosed that there are plans to improve the local league after admitting the poor standard of the league; hinting that Avram Grant as part of his contract with the GFA will help the local league to get back on its feet.
