Assembly Man's Car Set Ablaze During Campaign Tour

A man running for office as Assemblyman for Mukose in North Kaneshie, had his car burnt in a scuffle with supporters of his opponent.

Bediako Gyan told Adom News that while he was away busily campaigning, his opponent, Ebenezer Quaye stormed his house with some irate youth and removed his posters on the walls of his house and pasted that of his opponent (Ebenezer Quaye).

He siad the incident infuriated some of the his supporters in the area who confronted the youth  which resulted in scuffle.

Mr. Gyan added that after the scuffle, the supporters of Quaye set his car ablaze.

He explained that “Mr. Qauye and I belong to the same party and so in order to get his way, he convinced me to step down since both of us are contesting for the same seat, but I refused and so I suspect that could be the reason why he chose to burn my vehicle”.

Bediako Gyan said he has reported the case to the Kaneshie police who are investigating the issue. However, when Adom News contacted Ebenezer Quaye for his side of the story, he denied any wrong doing.

He indicated that though he went to Bediako's house, non of his supporters destroyed anything in the house.
