Nana Addo Is Part Of NPP Group Subscribing To Ethnocentricism - NDC Secretary

Once a lie is told, the person who told the lie often find himself or herself perpetrating more untruths to cover up; and this is exactly what Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo is doing, according to a leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The former finance minister under the erstwhile Kufour administration is alleged to have made some ethnocentric comments in a leaked audio tape that went viral last week.

The incident has driven him to personally come out to grant interviews to various radio stations after his office issued a press statement to debunked the report.

The supposed voice of Mr. Marfo is heard telling an NPP gathering that “you have all the resources, but you have no say in the management of your resources and that is what is happening. Your development depends on the one who has no resources…you can’t say this openly”.

Although series of denials have flown in from the camp of the NPP stalwart, the Deputy Volta Regional Secretary for the NDC, Mustapha Bandi believes the former MP for Akim Oda is not telling the truth because he has the backing of his presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo.

The NPP is a party that believes that if you are not an Akyem or an Akan, you can never be president. Nana Akufo Addo has been part of those peddling such stuff”, he claimed.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s Midday News, the NDC activist noted that the entire Volta region considers his leaked comments as quite unfortunate.

He continued that although "politicians could sometimes goof, the safer way to go is to candidly apologise and avoid repetition". But in the case of the NPP, Mustapha Bandi claims they "always take an entrenched position and continually defend their gaffe with lies”.
