Italian Investors Meet Amissah-Arthur

A group of Italian investors has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur in his office at the Flagstaff House, Accra to discuss investment opportunities in the energy and power sectors.

The delegation, led by the chairman of World Trade Center Accra, Togbe Afede XIV, is also in the country to explore investment opportunities in the railway and construction sectors.

The delegation, after their meeting with the Vice President, held talks with officials of the Ministries of Power, Roads and Highways, Transport, Water Resources Works and Housing, Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana Water Company Ltd., Ghana Airports Company Ltd and Ghana Grid Company Ltd.

Briefing the Vice President, Chairman of WTC Accra, Togbe Afede XIV, said the visit was aimed at firming up the various discussions held in 2014 at the Italian Foreign Ministry in Rome, Italy during the Ghana Country Presentation and Investment forum.

The Ghana Country Presentation and Investment forum, which was held in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO ITPO), was aimed at promoting private and public sector business collaborations and strengthening bilateral relationship between Ghana and Italy.

The idea was mooted by the former Italian Foreign Affairs Minister, Emma Boninoand Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh.

Business to Business (B2B) meetings were also arranged for Ghanaian and Italian companies at the forum.
