Reject NDCs Tribal Agenda, Yabre!

The Movement For Change (MFC) notes with sadness and trepidation how low the ruling party in Ghana, John Mahama’s NDC, is prepared to sink in the gutter of tribal politics in the hope of clinging on to the power which is fast slipping away from them.

The latest in this line of reckless and irresponsible tribal politics of John Mahama’s NDC is now making rounds in the social media through known NDC Facebook activists in the shape of placards which the NDC has manufactured for mass (new) media circulation, bearing distasteful tribal messages against the good people of the North.

It did not matter to these NDC tribal bigots that the “Y’abre Demo’ was led by one of the distinguished sons of the North, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

We wish to inform the good people of Ghana that this is just one such evidence of the reckless and unpatriotic efforts of the NDC to push Ghana into a needless tribal conflict, and set one ethnic group against the other. We must not allow them to succeed!

We wish to emphasise that we the organisers of the

“Y’abre Demo” held in Kumasi this Wednesday are extremely pleased with the huge turn out. We are grateful to all the Ghanaians from all walks of life who showed up in their record numbers to make it, arguably the biggest ever street demonstration in this nation’s history. We are also grateful to the 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who travelled from Accra to lead the demonstration and address the masses.

Though we do not wish to repeat the ethnocentric messages displayed on the NDC fabricated placards in question, we, however, wish to alert the innocent public to disregard them

The fabricated photo we refer to shows three people standing together and carrying three ethnocentric placards against the people of the North. The faces of the people holding the three placards have been deliberately darkened even though the messages on the placards they are holding and the images of the people behind the three are very clear and easily readable.

There can be only one explanation for this: the photo has been manufactured on a computer by way of Photoshop and mischievously distributed on the social media for dangerous propaganda effect.

We do not even believe that the faces of the three men was darkened to protect them but that it was darkened to deny them the opportunity to recognize themselves in order to deny the authenticity of the placards.

It is obvious that the true messages on the three placards have been changed and replaced with computer-generated messages to propagate NDC’s tribal politics.

We are aware that the leadership of the NDC has taken a deliberate decision to make tribalism a major campaign strategy for 2016. We are also aware that they intend to use their activists on social media, their newspapers and their communicators up and down the country to push a campaign of turning tribe against tribe here in Ghana.

We wish to remind the NDC that no amount of tribal propaganda will stop Ghanaians from coming out in their numbers to express their frustration and anger against the bad leadership under President Mahama.

They have evidently displayed to Ghanaians that they are bereft of ideas and clueless about how to solve the myriad of problems that they have brought onto this nation - the crippling power crisis, widespread stealing of public funds, escalating unemployment among young people, rising cost of living and the mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy in general. All they care about is winning the next election, even at the cost of burning down the multi-ethnic fabric of Ghana.

Ghanaians must reject the NDC and their dangerous tribal politics. Y’abre! Enough is Enough!!
