NPP To Open Nominations For Parliamentary Primaries

The General Secretary of the Opposition New Patiotic Party Mr Kwabena Agyapong says the party will soon open parlimentary primaries.

According to him, the leadership of the party has already met at a retreat to discuss the way forward but have not taken a final decision on the mattter.

Speaking to HELLO FM's King Edward on Thursday, the General secretary explained that there are several school of thought on the matter, but as a party, they will have a thorough discussion.

National Executive Committee(NEC) will be meeting immediately after the district level assembly elections to discuss purposely the way forward for the parlimentary primaries, he added.

He however expressed worry over the decision of some constituency ececutives especially chairman of some constituencies in the country specifically the Ashanti Region to contest the parliamentary primaries.Though our party constitution does not speak against it,it is not however for a party in opposition to have such decisions from the leaders of the party at the various constituencies. We will however take a firm decision on all these issues when we meet at the NEC meeting.

"We will expect our primaries to be peaceful to ensure our smooth victory in the 2016 general elections".

He further charged party members to remain united as atitudes which he describes some as eye services is killing the party,we cannot continue this way and expect to win 2016 general elections. We all have our differences, but the wellbeing and the welfare of the party should be paramount.

This a party we are serving and work together as a team,if we were united as a party,Ghanaians will not be suffering as they are now because everybody knows that we are better managers of the economy.

Everything this government thinks about is the next election and not the next generation and the future of this country. They are obsessed with propaganda and deceiving the people of Ghana,he noted.
