Tourism Authority Staff Salute Julius Debrah

The Senior Staff Association of the Ghana Tourism Authority has congratulated Mr Julius Debrah on his elevation to the position of the Chief of Staff after serving in several ministerial positions.

The association said Mr. Debrah’s new appointment was as a result of his dedication to duty and hard work which President John Mahama has recognised.

The association sent the congratulation through a press statement made available to The Ghanaian Times yesterday.

The statement stated that “it is during your tenure of office as Executive Director of the GTA from 2010 to 2012 that your demonstrated resilience, diligence and humility in the performance of your duties”.

It said Mr. Debrah endeared himself by relating well with all and sundry who came into contact with him.

“This you did by having regular interactions with various groups within the Authority to find out their challenges and ensure that they are solved, of which the Senior Staff if no exception, a reminiscence of a team player,” the statement said.

He appealed to the new Chief of Staff to ensure that ‘part of the oil and gas revenue be channeled into tourism and hospitality development for the sustainable future development of Ghana”.

Mr. Debrah assumed the woolsack at the presidency last month after a shakeup at the Flagstaff House.

Before his new appointment, he served as the Minister of the Eastern and the Greater Accra regions and later posted to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. As Local Government Minister his passionate crusade against filth that has engulfed the country gave birth to the National Sanitation Day.
