AshantiGold FC coach Bashiru Hayford's home has been broken into as he left the Tema house to Obuasi after spending the weekend. Raiders smashed the window at his detached property in Bediako Michel Camp, Tema, and ransacked rooms. The thieves made off with several bags, electronic devices, and an undisclosed amount of Ghana Cedis- and over USD$3,000. Bashiru told Accra-based Atinka FM "Yes it is true I have been robbed", "As I speak to you I am in a bus leaving Obuasi for Tema to check on the actual damage and items stolen but for now I cannot clearly say what were stiolen", "I came to spend the weekend in Tema and took my wife to the hospital but I left straight from there to Obuasi but by the time she got home, she realised that the whole house had been ransacked", "She had about $3,000 in her bag for medical check ups but all were taken and some monies too I cannot confirm".
