According to him, the president has signaled his preparedness to fight corruption and prosecute anybody guilty of the anti-social practice.

 

The PPP at a press conference on Tuesday, described corruption under President John Mahama as the number one “enemy of progress” to the growth and development of Ghana. The PPP says corruption, which has reached historic heights, has been the main contributor of the deplorable conditions Ghanaians are still struggling with today.

 

Speaking further on the topic, General Secretary of the PPP, Kofi Asamoah Siaw, on Adom FM on Wednesday said many of the past leaders have shown a certain "talkative posture" similar to President Mahama’s, when it comes to the issue of corruption.

 

“We say it’s mere rhetoric because all their talk to fight corruption has only proven to be a cosmetic posture, perhaps, said only to score cheap political points on the false notion that they are doing something about it,” he said.

 

But Mr. Jacobs on the same show insisted the president has done enough to curb the menace, including the prosecution of persons caught in the web.

 

“President Mahama has really done enough to wipe out corruption that has hit the country. He is actually walking the talk, so it is very unfortunate to hear them say that the president has done little to solve the situation. He has shown true leadership skills,” he declared.
