One Million Votes By NDC In Ashanti Is A Joke Bambata

Mr. Kwabena Adjei, the founder and 2008 Presidential Candidate of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD) has said the 1 million votes targeted by the ruling National Democratic Congress  (NDC) in the Ashanti region in the  2016 elections is a joke.

Mr. Adjei, also known as Bambata, says the NDC cannot even achieve 25% votes mark at the polls, let alone maintain the previous 28% votes record. “I can bet on my life that NDC cannot bag 1,000 votes here in Ashanti.

Their (NDC) claim is a joke,” he said and explained that the electorate is simply disappointed in the NDC government. He said the NDC is fast losing grounds in Ashanti region and pointed to cracks at its front, evidenced in the seeming infighting and wrangling between the Regional Minister and the Kumasi mayor and the leadership of the party in the region.

“These and many more make it more prudent for the RPD to divorce the NDC and withdraw its (RPD) support from the NDC in the 2016 elections”, Mr. Adjei hinted.

The RPD leader said his party is very disappointed in the Mahama-led administration for messing the once vibrant economy under President Kufuor, explaining that the ruling NDC has destroyed almost all the good things the Kufuor’s administration put in place to improve upon the lot of the ordinary Ghanaian.

“Almost all the social interventions introduced by President Kufuor for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian have collapsed under the NDC,” he said.

The former flagbearer mentioned the School Feeding Programme (SFP), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the Mass Spraying of Cocoa, abandoning of the affordable housing project, the Sofoline Interchange project (which on completion would serve four regions), Maternal care for pregnant women, the then National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), the capitation grant and the Metro Mass Transit with free bus ride for school children, as interventions which were institutionalized by the Kufuor government, but currently shadows of their glorious past.

Mr. Adjei blamed NDC’s failure and poor showing on the caliber of some ministers described as novices in the art of governance and not matured enough to practice as politicians, let alone be entrusted with positions in government.

He pointed to the appointment of “children with sharp teeth” and “little dwarfs” who he said are irresponsible and immature and alleged to have contributed to the erosion of confidence in the government by the people.

“Most of the appointees are novices and immature to be called politicians” he said.
Mr. Adjei also attributed the government’s weakness to tribal sentiments, thus depriving best brains from other tribes from contributing their quota to nation building.  According to the RPD founder, the President is not in control of affairs. “He simply cannot fire people he hires in his employment.

The end result is that government functionaries are having a field day indulging in all sorts of corrupt practices of various magnitudes”.

He said decisions of the government cannot be fully implemented because positions are held by the President’s cronies some of whom have questionable characters and who do not take directives serious thus making the government unpopular.
