Fifi Kwetey Refrains From Attacking Presby Moderator

Minister of Food and Agriculture Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey says he will not attempt to assess remarks attributed to the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Professor Emmanuel Martey, over the country's energy crisis.

According to Mr Kwetey, he is not in a position to pass judgement on a man of God who claims to have the solution to the energy crisis and yet refuses to bring it forward in order to benefit all, he says.

The Presby Moderator is reported to have said that he would use three months to solve the energy crisis were he the president.

"Listen, Ghana is not a big country to fix this problem," he told members of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region over the weekend.

"In four months you can solve it; at most in six months…If I were in charge, within three months I will solve the problem…Look at the loans we are taking; this is a crisis, why can’t we use the loans to fix it? Then you tell us you will fix it, when?"

But Fiifi Kwetey, who is also the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, said he was disappointed in Prof. Martey for keeping the purported solution to himself especially when he professes to be a man of God.

Fiifi Kwetey was speaking on TV3’s News @10 on Monday, March 9.
