Woyome's Acquittal Is No News...He Had Protective Shield From The Onset - Egbert Faibille

One legal practitioner who was not taken by surprise when news broke that the High Court has declared Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome a free man is Lawyer Egbert Faibille.

From the beginning, Woyome had a shield and it was a very protective one”, he claims.

The astute lawyer in an interview with Peace FM News attributed failure on the part of the Attorney General to prove any of the charges brought against Mr. Woyome, as the main reason for the court's landmark ruling.

Alfred Agbesi Woyome was Thursday acquitted and discharged on two counts of causing financial loss to the state and defrauding by false pretence by an Accra High Court. Following the judgement, Lawyer Egbert Faibille claims there is no one in Ghana who can go to court and revive the case again.

Concerning this case, there is absolutely no one who can prosecute him (Woyome) again. The case is dead”, he simply stated.

In his view, Woyome got the upper hand when the Attorney General did a shoddy work.

Woyome never went to the Bank of Ghana with a knife and open their vault to take money. Neither did he go to the Ministry of Finance to take their money. The Attorney General’s failure to do the necessary thing led to judgment in default of defence and it favoured Mr. Woyome”, Egbert Faibille noted.
