White House Receives Mailed Package Containing Cyanide

The White House received an envelope this week containing cyanide.

According to CNN, the Secret Service released the following statement on the incident:

“On Monday 3/16/15, an envelope was received at the White House Mail Screening Facility. Initial Biological testing was negative; however, on 03/17/15, the chemical testing returned a presumptive positive for cyanide. The sample was transported to another facility to confirm the results.”

Sources say the man listed in the return address has some history with the Secret Service from as far back as 1995. That history includes an incident where the man sent a package to the White House that contained feces and urine.
