6,000 People for Life Walk 2015

Over 6,000 members of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) and the general public will hit the streets of Accra tomorrow in what is expected to be one of the largest annual fitness and health walks in the country.

The congregants will be led by the Head Pastor of the church, Pastor Mensa Otabil, and some dignitaries of Greater Accra Region.

Put together by the  ICGC, the 12-kilometre walk,  that starts  at dawn tomorrow,  will be preceded by an aerobics and warm-up session at  the starting point at Christ Temple, Abossey Okai.

The annual fitness event is designed to raise funds  to support  the Children’s Cancer Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Funds will be generated from the sale of ICGC wrist bands and T-shirts.

Routes for the exercise are  the Mortuary Road, High Street, CEPS, TUC, Graphic Road, Obetsebi Lamptey Circle back to the starting point at Abossey Okai.

Life Walk aims at promoting the health and physical well-being of participants.

It also serves as a charity event to raise funds in support of the church’s social and community development programmes.

The proceeds from this year’s event will go to support the Children’s Cancer Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, which the church has adopted for the past four years.
