Clifford Aboagye & Yeboah Make 2015 AYC Team Of The Tournament

Yaw Yeboah and Clifford Aboagye were included in the tournament’s best eleven after helping Ghana to win bronze.

Ghana U20 players Yaw Yeboah and Clifford Aboagye were given recognition for their exploits after being named in the Team of the Tournament at the just-concluded African Youth Championship in Senegal.

The two players were the stand-outs for the Black Satellites at the 20th edition of the championship won by Nigeria, who defeated Senegal 1-0 in the final.

Yeboah, 17, scored twice in Ghana’s 3-1 win over Mali in the third place play-off in Dakar. The Right to Dream Academy product was also named as the tournament’s most valuable player last Sunday.

Clifford Aboagye, the Adidas bronze ball winner at the Fifa U20 World Cup in Turkey in 2013, joined Yeboah as the only two players from Ghana to make best eleven. The team is fairly mixed with players from Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and Ghana.

Meanwhile, two other Ghanaian players, Joseph Aidoo and Prosper Kassim, also made the eight-man bench.

All four players are expected to help the Black Satellites to make a mark at the Fifa U20 World Cup in New Zealand in May/June.

Sellas Tetteh’s boys have been paired in Group B with Argentina, Austria and Panama.
