The First Meeting of the Third Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Fourth Republic has ended.

During the Meeting the House received and debated the President’s State of the Nation Address, approved a number of Amendment Bills, ratified some International Agreements, approved new fees and charges for 72 MDAs.

The Minister of Finance was also in the House to present a Statement on the implications of the fall in crude oil prices on the 2015 budget.

The MPs also questioned the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kodwo Afari-Gyan on the cancellation of the District level election following the ruling of the Court.

In his closing remarks the Majority Leader and MP for Nadole-Kaloe Alban Bagbin commended members for the manner with which they were able to resolve differences on issues that came before the House.

The Minority Leader and MP for Suame recounted some happenings in the House and still hold the view that the nation is not in a good shape.

He asked government to inform Ghanaians about the terms and conditions underpinning the IMF bail-out package.

The Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho commended the Leadership of the House for their support during the meeting and wished the NPP MPs well in their upcoming Parliamentary Primaries.

The House is expected to resume sitting in May barring any emergency recall.
