The bodies of the two persons whose names were not given have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue.

    The deceased officers were personnel from the Region’s patrol and transport operations units.

     Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng, Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), confirmed the incident to Ghana News Agency and stated that a third officer who was with them has been treated and discharged from the Tema General Hospital.

     ASP Obeng indicated that the accident occurred at about 0500 hours near Shai Hills.

     She added that the deceased who were part of the Tema-Akosombo high way patrol were returning from patrol duties when the incident occurred.

     She said the patrol vehicle collided with a Kia truck leading to the death of the police personnel.

    The PRO stated that while the driver of the Kia truck is receiving medical treatment at a government hospital, the truck was still at the scene of the accident.
