NDC MP In A Fight With Police officer

The NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains South in the Eastern has accused the police of beating him up on the Kwahu mountains during the Easter festivities.

Joseph Appiah Boateng narrating his ordeal on Adom FM Tuesday Morning said the incident happened when he and his family were travelling to Obo to celebrate Easter.

According to him, he was stopped by the Police officer while en route to the Kwahu town but pleaded with him to let them travel on due to the heavy traffic in Kwahu.

“So many vehicles were using the Obo road and so when the police officer stopped me. I pleaded with him to allow us take that route since nothing shows we were flouting any rules.

“And so on our way, I heard a sound on my car and to my dismay I saw the Policeman smashing my car lights with his gun. I got out from the car to question why he did but unfortunately he hit me with his gun…,” he added.

This act by the Police Officer, he said led to a scuffle between them which drew other Police officers to the scene but the matter was later sent to the Mpraeso Police station as investigations continue.
